Overeating is nothing but the consumption of excess food that effects’ a lot of people. Mostly people overeat when they are either
addicted to eating, find it as means to get out of
depression,
festivities, or overeat due to effects that are
medicine induced.
So people need to avoid overeating that may lead to
excess weight, lethargy, and many other things. Overeating is also called
binge eating disorder or bulimia. The simplest way to reduce overeating is to eat less, exercise more, as well as therapies such as
individual therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and
group therapy. Keeping a watch on the eating habits helps people cope with difficult situations that eventually help people to lose weight.
Excess eating habit is harder to quit than smoking or alcohol or drugs. The first indication of overeating can be detected when a person feels his/her stomach bulging at the end of meals. Over-eating does not help the body, rather it creates problems such as
high cholesterol, diabetes, hypertension, depression, kidney problems, arthritis, sleep apnea, and
bone deterioration.
How to Control Overeating 1. Drinking a glass of water or taking alternate sips of water between bites helps to slow down the eating pace, help increase digestion and the feeling of hunger subsides.
2. Eating hot low-fat soup or a salad allows a person to eat fiber or vegetables; also eating high calorie toppings helps people to calm their hunger pangs while eating main meal.
3. Eating food in proper proportions to helps people to measure what they can eat better or like to eat first or the most during a meal. It is better to stick to that level.
4. Eating slowly helps people to digest the food in a better way. As it takes up to 30 minutes for stomach to full so eating till one feels full is actually overeating. Also chewing and drinking water between bites helps people to eat the optimum food. Eating in a relaxed manner helps people to not to overeat.
5. Snacks should be eaten in a controlled manner as they are not just small and people tend to overeat them, but they are also responsible for increase in cholesterol.
6. Eating any food or meals at regular intervals allows to people to control overeating.
7. Avoid temptation towards favorite fried food or sugary dishes such as ice cream, also helps people to control overeating, also eating food in moderation helps.

Exercise also helps to control hunger pangs and acts as stimulus to take the mind off food as well as relieve stress as well as control
belly expansion and eventually lose weight.
